"Inverurie
Heli Safety & Training Weekend"
|
|
|
 |
The Inverurie Heli Safety & Training weekend
was held over the weekend of the 27-28th March 2004, and around 20
pilots attended the event.
The event was primarily advertised as a Safety
& Training event, but there was plenty of time for the pilots to
enjoy some free flight. Especially the show put on by our own SAA
Secretary, Stuart Savage. |
|
|
Being a training weekend there were
plenty of experienced pilots on hand who were willing to
take on novice pilots on the buddy box.
Here we see our SAA Vice Chairman
Quentin Mayberry giving one of the local members some
tuition.

Help was also at hand for setup
problems. At these events you don't only learn how to fly,
but also safety & correct setting up of your model is also
emphasised.
William Robb's Raptor based Airwolf
suffered from intermittent tail problems, but after a few
minutes discussing the Gyro setup all was well, making his
trip down from Elgin all the more worthwhile. Robb also
gained his Bronze at the weekend. |

|
|
Without a doubt everyone who attended the
event enjoyed themselves, and five pilots achieved the following
safety awards.

Douglas McDonald |

John King |

William Robb |

The club would like to thank everyone who
attended the event and contributed to its success. Most of all
though, the report wouldn't be complete without mentioning the lads
from the Clyde Heli Club who camped overnight at the field. Comments
such as 'badgers? what badgers?' and 'it doesn't half get
dark up here' kept the jokes flowing all weekend.
See you all at next years event..... |
